Blung,dkst.itb.ac.idITB's Science and Technology Directorate received a visit from Science and Technopark LPPM University of National Development "Veteran East Java" on Tuesday (11 / 8 / 2026).

In the 12th floor of ITB Innovation Park Budung Technopolis, this visit was intended to acquire information and experience related management of Science Techno Park (STP), hilirization of research and innovation, business incubation, as well as technological-based startup development. The event was attended by representatives of Science and Technopark LPPM "VESP" East Java "and the DKST ITB ranks.

In the discussion, UPN "Veteran" the system revealed that the STP that was just standing on July 2025 is currently preparing a restructuring process. Through this visit, the "Veteran" UPN wants to get an image of the STP structure and management as reference in the development process.

Respond to that, the DKST ITB reveals the importance of mapping into the potential, human resources, as well as the early resources to determine the focus and priority of STP development. That strategy reinforcement also needs to be supported with technical readiness and clear role division.

In addition to management, aspect of priority andcomplianceit also needs to be prepared in the first place so that STP development needs can be identified and not become an obstacle at the next stage.

Discovery also includes the hilirization of research and innovation towards commercial. The DKST ITB explains that some innovation has the potential to be commercial, but still faces challenges from the side of investment needs. One of the approaches that can be made is to start commercial on a lower scale lab with lower investment needs.
In that subject,EBM Scitechbecame one example of innovation that had a chance to commercial on a laboratory scale. Besides,Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDEC)it was introduced as one of the initiative for development of the tech ecosystem on ITB.

Pathlicenseit also became one of the alternatives in encouraging commercial technology, both through both industrial and startup partners built up. In the development of the startup, the DKST ITB also emphasizes the importance of quality and readiness of the teamfounderas one of the factors that supports startup sustainability.

Startup development also needs to be supported withpipelinethat's adequate as well as a target and a measured period. By the waypipelinethat's enough, the incubation process can buy room for more potential startup to evolve.

This visit is expected to strengthen the exchange of experiences between the DKST ITB and Science and Technopark LPPM "VESP" Veteran "East Java, and also open the possibility of cooperation in the development of STP, hilirization of innovation, as well as the stewardship of the technology-based startup.
