10 ITB Students Winning NUS Enterprise Summer Program Scholarships

Bandung, lpik.itb.ac.id – On May 31 2024, the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) and the National University of Singapore (NUS) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which aims to promote collaboration in research and development. This collaboration includes several key initiatives designed to enhance technological and entrepreneurial exchanges between the two countries.

This MoU includes three important points related to the programs that will be implemented by ITB and NUS. First, there is an agreement regarding the provision of scholarships to selected ITB students to take part in the NUS Enterprise Summer Program in Entrepreneurship and other entrepreneurship programs. This scholarship award scheme is reciprocal with the term "1+1", where one full scholarship awarded by ITB will be balanced with one full scholarship by NUS.

NUS Enterprise Summer Program in Entrepreneurship 2024

As part of this MoU, LPIK ITB sent 10 students to take part in the 2024 NUS Enterprise Summer Program in Entrepreneurship (NUSSP). In accordance with the "1+1" scheme agreement, five students are funded by full scholarships from ITB and five others are funded by full scholarships from NUS. The NUS Enterprise Summer Program is a summer holiday study activity held by NUS Enterprise to learn more about the startup ecosystem that has long been established in Singapore. This activity can be participated in by all undergraduate students throughout the world.

In this activity, students from various countries in the world learn together and look directly at the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, especially in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The program will run intensively for two weeks on 11-22 July 2022. The programs implemented include workshops, classes, discussions, pitchings, demo days, and also final performances. Each participant discusses in groups with members from different countries. After students take part in this program, it is hoped that the participants will gain sufficient knowledge to develop their business startup.

Of the 10 selected students, several of them graduated from LPIK programs, both from entrepreneurship development and incubation programs; 5 students have participated in the ITB i-Teams program, 2 others are alumni of the Pertamina CoRE ITB program, and 3 LPIK-incubated startups have participated in this program. The ten ITB students who received benefits from the implementation of NUSSP 2024 included:

  1. Jinan Algifari (FTI)
  2. Marsheila (FTI)
  3. Ghebyon T. Nainggolan (STEI)
