DKST ITB Develops Technology Readiness Level Measurement Standards to Strengthen Evaluation

BROTHER,dkst.itb.ac.id-On Wednesday (29 / 7 / 2026), the Science and Technology Directorate (DKST) Institute of Technology (ITB) organized the Standardization Locaary Measurement Approved Technology Awards (TKT) that took place at the Patra Hotel Bandung. This event became part of a DKST effort to set up a standard measurement and validation TKT that can be applied consistently in the funding and development of innovation in the ITB environment.

TKT orTechnology Readness Level(TRL) It's a parameter to measure as far as a technology has been developed, tested, and ready to apply further. The size of TTTT helps researchers and innovators understand the technological position in the development process, from conceptual stages to readiness for industry adoption.

In its application, the method of measuring TKT can be understood differently in various fields of technology, from interpretation of each level to the determination of supporting evidence and validation of grading results. The similarity of perception and approach is necessary for technology readiness judgment to be done objectively and systematically by constantly considering the characteristics of each field.

The workshop presents academics and practitioners who have experience in development and technology assessment. Prof. Ir. Johnner Sitompul,M.Sc. delivering the basic concept of TKT that includes principles, goals, and indicators on every level. In the meantime, Doctor. Husni Yasin Rosedi's Accounts of National Research and Innovation (BRIN) illustrates the practice of TKT measurements in BRIN, including an acesthetic methodology, supporting evidence, and a validation mechanism.

The next assignment is directed at the challenge of TKT measurement and application in innovation funding evaluation. Participants discuss the interpretation of every TKT level on various fields of technology, ITB technology accensor criteria, as well as measurement validation. The distribution based on field groups is also done to identify acceptable evidence in each TKT indicator, its validation mechanism, as well as formulate recommendations as input in standard drafting the TKT measurement in ITB.

The workshop talks will be compiled by the D.KST internal team as a standard-operating draft material. The SOP was directed to be a measuring and validation TKT program for the DKST managed innovation funding program.

Through these standard drafting, the DKST pushed the more objective, transparent, and accountable process of TKT assessment in the ITB environment. A more obvious challenge is expected to strengthen the use of TKT measurement as the basis of decision-making in innovation development as well as supporting the process of fabrication of technology towards applications in societies and industries.
