Bandung, dkst.itb.ac.id – ITB's Regional Directorate of Science and Technology (DKST) received a working visit from a delegation from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and Bandoengsche Technische Hoogeschool Fonds (BTHF) on Monday (9/2/2026).
This visit is part of a series of celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of BTHF, a foundation founded in 1926 to support education and research at ITB. Historically, ITB (formerly Technische Hoogeschool te Bandoeng) has its roots in a curriculum and academic philosophy modeled on the Dutch TU Delft technical education system.
Before visiting the innovation area, the delegation first held a meeting at the Ganesa Campus. The discussion focused on the potential for strategic academic collaboration, including student exchange programs, joint research in priority fields (Water Management, Civil Engineering, Aerospace and Product Design), double degree programs, as well as support for the development of the ITB Museum.
The delegation was attended directly by the Pro Vice Chancellor for International Affairs TU Delft, Prof. Ena Voute, along with the Chair of BTHF, Prof. Elco van Beek.
After the agenda at Ganesa, the group departed for the DKST ITB facilities and were welcomed by the Director of DKST, Ir. R. Sugeng Joko Sarwono, M.T., Ph.D.

In this meeting, Joko Sarwono explained the main structure and function of DKST as a center for downstream university research. The explanation focused on DKST's role in managing innovation at Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) 7 to 9, the business incubation process, as well as technology commercialization strategies so that they can be absorbed by industry and society.
Overview of Laboratory Facilities The agenda ended with a field visit to various superior research facilities in the DKST building. The delegation visited the Smart City research center laboratory (SCCIC) on the 9th floor, the biomedical engineering facility (EBM Scitech) on the 8th floor, and the integrated circuit design development facility (ICDeC) on the 7th floor.

This visit is a concrete step to continue the historical relationship between ITB and Dutch institutions towards collaborative research and applied technology that is relevant to the needs of modern industry.
