DKST ITB Welcomes New Leadership, Strengthens the Sustainability of the Innovation Ecosystem

BANDUNG, dkst.itb.ac.id – The Regional Directorate of Science and Technology (DKST) of the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) has officially carried out a structural leadership transition. Through the ITB Chancellor's Decree, Ir. Hary Devianto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., was appointed as Director of DKST ITB to replace Ir. R. Sugeng Joko Sarwono, M.T., Ph.D.

This change of leadership was officially determined through ITB Chancellor's Decree Number 899B/IT1.A/SK-KP/2026 and 899A/IT1.A/SK-KP/2026, which is effective from August 1 2026. This structural relay is a strategic step for the institution to ensure the sustainability of DKST's function as the main driver of the innovation ecosystem in the campus environment.

Before assuming this new mandate, Hary Devianto served as Deputy Head of the ITB Sustainable Business and Fund Management Agency (BPUDL). This managerial experience is projected to further strengthen DKST ITB's position in accelerating technology commercialization, business incubation, and management of integrated science areas that bridge academic research with industrial needs.

Along with the inauguration of this transition, the institution also expressed its highest appreciation and thanks for Sugeng Joko Sarwono's services and dedication during his tenure as Director of DKST ITB. Under the direction of the previous leadership, the institution has succeeded in laying various foundations for innovation development programs and strengthening essential stakeholder collaboration.

In the future, through the new leadership structure, DKST ITB is targeted to continue to expand the synergy between technology development and its use in the field. This step is expected to be able to encourage more research outputs to be successfully downstream, thereby providing a more massive real impact on society and national industry.
