Exploring Innovation and Entrepreneurship Collaboration between ITB and UCL

Blung, dkst.itb.ac.id- On February 27th, 2025, a strategic meeting between the Science and Technology Directorate (DKST) ITB, the International Connection Office (IRO) ITB and University College London (UCL). This meeting is a significant first step in exploring the potential collaboration between two superior institutions in innovation, entrepreneurship, as well as academic cooperation and research.

In the discussion, UCL expressed its interest to establish a closer partnership with ITB, especially in development of entrepreneurial exchange programs. One of the initiatives discussed is adoption of the i- teams program, a model that has successfully applied to the university environment to strengthen the connection between academic research and the industrial world. The implementation of this program is expected to be a real impact on facilitating the transformation of research results into an applative solution in society.

Furthermore, this meeting also opened up space for the possibility of working together in academic research and exchange resources as part of an internationalization effort for both institutions. In this case, the funding aspect becomes one of the issues that will be studied further, given that the success of the cross-country programs rely heavily on sustainable and strategic financial support.

In the spirit of collaborative and global vision, this initiative is expected to be a catalyst in strengthening the ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship in Indonesia, as well as expanding ITB international networks in the world of higher education and research.
