Blung,dkst.itb.ac.id-ITB Science and Technology Area Directorate (DKST) re-open registration for the Incubation and Accelerate Startup PRME 2025. This program is an ongoing initiative designed to provide concrete support for technology-based innovation development, especially from the environment of ITB academic cience and alumni. Through socialization conducted online, the organizers submitted a general image of programs, funding schemes, to the content of the participants.
PRlME STEP present as a storage vessel for teams who are trying to turn research results into products or services that are more ready to go into the market. Instead of being a competition or a pure business selection, the program is more emphasized as a process of coaching and facilitating, with infrastructure support, mentoring, and access to funding adjusted to each team readiness.
In the structure of the program offered this year, PRIME STEP is divided into two main lanes: incubation and acceleration. The incubation pathways are meant for teams who are building the initial foundation of research-based businesses. The focus of this program is facilitating the business model validation process, getting first customers, and taking care of the product legality. The proposed product is expected to have reached a minimum level of TKT technology and developed by a startup between six months and five years old. First of all, the founders are part of ITB academic siziness, whether it's professor, student, education, or alumni. The program also provides funding until Rp150 million for each selected startup, with the terms that the team is not receiving any other funding for the same financing components.
Meanwhile, acceleration pathways are intended for startup that have shown early growth and have a need to expand the market or strengthen the business foundation. Acceleration program divided in two cycles: the first cycle is focused on advanced validation and increased production capacity, whereas the second cycle is more directed at strengthening market strategy and business growth. For the startup following this course, the maximum allowed age is seven years, with the conditions already having a law agency and complete legality. It's also important that the startup has active customers, functional products, and a good user retension rate. For the startup that goes into the second cycle, it will be more prioritized if it has a steady or improved market demand, the price of a market validated product, as well as the cost structure and the clear supply chain. The maximum funding scheme for this acceleration program reaches Rp500 million per startup, depending on the readiness and feasibility rate shown during the selection.
PRlME STEP offers a rational entrance for technology developers in the ITB environment to start testing and setting up startup innovation. The registration of this program opens until June 26, 2025, with a process of selection that will take place throughout July. The team that passed the selection will start following a series of activities from August to November.
