BANDUNG, dkst.itb.ac.id – The Directorate of Science and Technology Parks (DKST) at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) welcomed an industrial visit by students from the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) to ITB Innovation Park Bandung Technopolis on Wednesday (16 September 2026). The visit aimed to provide comprehensive insight into the direct application of science and technology in research and industrial settings.
The group, comprising students from UNY’s Electronics Engineering Education, Informatics Engineering Education, and Information Technology programs, was welcomed by Melia Famiola, S.T.P., M.T., Ph.D., Deputy Director for Area Business Development at ITB Innovation Park Bandung Technopolis. During the visit, Melia explained the strategic role of the DKST and ITB Innovation Park ecosystem.

The institution serves as a key enabler connecting academic technological innovation with practical development and the real needs of industry. The presentation was highly relevant to UNY’s vision of developing competent human resources who can adapt to technological advances toward the Society 5.0 era.
Following the presentation, the students toured the advanced technologies and facilities at ITB Innovation Park Bandung Technopolis. The tour focused on the National Center for Sustainable Transportation Technology (NCSTT) laboratory on the 10th floor and the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Center (ICDEC) on the 7th floor. By visiting these facilities, students were expected to gain an understanding of the workflows, operating standards, and practical competencies required in professional environments.

The industrial visit is expected to narrow the gap between classroom theory and actual workplace practice. Beyond this, the institutional interaction is expected to open broader opportunities for university collaboration in education, research, and technological innovation development.
