Australia, dkst.itb.ac.id – Two startups supported by the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), LeadAI and Bell Living Labs, were selected as Short Course participants: Advancing Research into Commercialization held through the 2026 Australian Awards Indonesia program.
Short Courses: Advancing Research into Commercialization is a program that aims to increase the capacity of participants in developing research results into innovations that have commercial value and have an impact on society and industry. This program is also a forum for innovators to learn various approaches in encouraging the downstreaming of research results through collaboration with the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
The program selection process takes place competitively, involving more than 500 applicants. Of this number, only 25 participants were declared qualified to take part in the short course series. LeadAI and Bell Living Labs are the only startups representing Indonesia in the participant group.
During the program, participants gain insight into the process of commercializing research results, developing technology-based innovations, as well as business scale-up strategies to expand technology implementation in various sectors. Apart from that, this program also provides opportunities for participants to discuss and exchange experiences with academics, practitioners and industry players in developing research-based innovations.
The participation of LeadAI and Bell Living Labs in the 2026 Australian Awards Indonesia reflects the potential of ITB research-based startups in developing innovations that are competitive at the international level. It is hoped that the experience gained through this program can support the process of downstreaming research results, strengthen technology development, and open collaboration opportunities that encourage wider implementation of innovation for society and industry.
This achievement is also in line with the Bandung Institute of Technology's commitment to strengthening the technology-based innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem through developing startups that are able to transform research results into solutions that are relevant to the needs of society and the industrial world.
