Jakarta, 7 November 2025 — As a partner of UD IMPACT, ITB contributed to the success of the event FORWARD:ON Hackathon 2025, an innovation event that took place on 7–8 November at The Ritz-Carlton, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta. This activity is a collaboration forum for more than 100 young entrepreneurs who present new ideas in the field of environment and sustainable energy.
The MAJU:ON program itself has been running for six months, involving a consortium of eight partner universities who accompany students and startup founders through a series of mentoring, hackathons, and pitching sessions in front of investors. This initiative targets the birth of more than 20 GreenTech startups that are ready to grow and scale wider.
This effort encourages students—especially from ITB—to develop innovative ideas that contribute to sustainability solutions, while supporting the vision of making Indonesia the center for the leading Talent Growth & Matching Hub in Southeast Asia by 2030.
In this year's competition, two teams from ITB managed to record proud achievements.
GISACT grabbed 1st Winner Early-Stage Startup thanks to an AI-based geospatial platform that combines spatial data, machine learning and environmental modeling. This technology enables precise risk analysis, accurate impact calculations, and measurable intervention planning—especially for renewable energy needs and long-term environmental monitoring.
In the Students Startup category, Tanikan occupy position 2nd Runner Up with smart aquaculture innovation. Their solution integrates a sensor and camera-based automatic monitoring system (FishCam) with an interactive educational platform (FishEdu). This technology provides alerts real-time when changes in pond conditions occur, it is equipped with simulations and learning modules for farmers. Tanikan also developed a data-based auto-aerator to save energy without compromising fish safety.
The diversity of participants was seen from the presence of student teams from various partner universities as well as early stage startups from various regions of Indonesia. For two days, all participants competed intensively to produce innovations that would have a real impact on environmental sustainability in Indonesia.
